Job Description Summary

As the Engineering Intern for the Colibrium Additive Process & Validation team, you will support the maturation of our next generation additive printing technologies. You will work closely with process, validation, software, and design teams in a hands on lab and machine environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work in a hands-on environment to support machine, customer application, material and process development activities.
  • Support the development and refinement of machine processes and material parameters to maximize part yield, quality, and throughput
  • Conduct statistical analysis of machine and process data to identify trends, gaps versus requirements, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support test campaigns on additive printers to validate compliance to system and part requirements (performance, reliability, and quality).
  • Participate in root cause analysis of machine and process issues, partnering with cross‑functional teams to develop and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s of Master’s Degree program at an accredited university. Degrees focused on Mechanical, Electrical, Material Sciences, Computer Sciences or other relevant STEM majors.
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA off a 4.0 scale without rounding.

Desired Characteristics

  • Passion for technology and additive manufacturing: Strong commitment to a career in technology and an aptitude for additive manufacturing.
  • Additive knowledge: Working knowledge of additive manufacturing technologies and applications (coursework, labs, projects, or internships).
  • Problem‑solving mindset: Demonstrated problem‑solving skills and curiosity to understand unfamiliar technical areas (materials behavior, process controls, printability, etc.). Familiarity with statistics or design of experiments is a plus.
  • Data and software skills: Exposure to CAD tools (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, or similar); Experience with Python, MATLAB, Spotfire, or similar tools for data analysis and visualization
  • Systems and hardware interest: Interest in hands‑on work with machines, test setups, sensors, and instrumentation.
  • Communication and teamwork: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

  • Compensation: Pay rates for this position begin at $20/hour and increase for each undergraduate year completed; graduate students may be eligible for higher rates based on experience and program guidelines.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
