Reports to: Facility Maintenance Supervisor                               Work Location: Clear Lake, SD

Functional Area: Facility Maintenance                                         Required Travel: None

Exempt Status: Non-Exempt                                                          Salary Range: $22.00/hr DOE

Schedule: 4/10 hour shifts 

Job Summary: This position actively supports the upkeep and maintenance of the facility grounds, equipment and buildings. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Performs grounds maintenance to include operation of grass and snow handling equipment.

2. Drives company vehicles as needed. 

3. Maintains buildings, performs minor and routine painting, filter changes, light bulb changes, replaces doors and hardware and performs other related maintenance activities.

4. Completes routine maintenance of tractors, skid-steers and ground maintenance equipment.

5. Operates and performs general maintenance of all air compressors. 

6. Changes of all air makeup filters as necessary based on production buildings’ need.

7. Assists in cleaning administration building, including vacuuming, scrubbing floors, toilets, sinks and mirrors.

8. Picks up parts or supplies from vendors in local area. 

9. Shovels and plows snow around all buildings and in parking areas.

10. Maintains all trash and paper recycling programs.

11. Assists in maintaining records for several different monthly, semiannual, and annual maintenance checks.

12. Helps perform static grounding checks as scheduled for all production buildings. 

13. Performs minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC repairs.

14. Responsible for maintenance activities at the facility that could generate hazardous waste and other environmental management responsibilities.

15. Performs other work duties as assigned. 

Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States (ITAR restrictions).

2. Must be at least 18 years of age to work at this facility. 

3. Must be eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for all employees of Tech Ord.

4. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. One to three months related experience and/or training is preferred.

5. Ability to communicate and document effectively in English.

6. Function Specific RCRA training upon hire.

7. Ability to work effectively with other employees as part of a team.

8. Ability to multi-task in support of end-result/goal.

While performing the duties of this job: 

1. Ability to talk and hear in order to communicate with others. 

2. Continuously required to stand and/or walk both indoors and outdoors.  

3. Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel as well as reach with hands and arms.

4. Ability to bend, squat and kneel to perform maintenance functions. 

5. Lifting of 10 pounds is required.  Must be able to move materials by lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds and greater than 50 pounds with assistance.  

6. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus when viewing a computer monitor.

7. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and explosives. 

8. Ear protection is required as identified throughout the facility. 

9. Where required employees must wear a minimum of 50% cotton clothing including undergarments to mitigate electrostatic discharge (ESD). Employees must also wear company issued safety footwear.
