EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT DESCRIPTION: 

Required to be physically onsite to maintain critical operations. Must make every effort to report onsite during closures or delays unless released by leadership.  May be required to work modified or extended shifts.














JOB SUMMARY:

The Cashier/Customer Associate serves as a trusted extension of the pharmacy team, handling technical tasks so pharmacists can maximize direct patient care.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet every visitor promptly and courteously, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere at both pharmacy and retail counters.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, route clinical or insurance questions to pharmacists or technicians, and take clear, accurate messages.
  • Perform precise POS transactions for prescriptions, OTC items, DME, and gift merchandise; reconcile cash drawer and maintain transaction accuracy.
  • Guide customers in selecting all product lines - health, wellness, personal-care, and gift items—highlighting promotions and recommending solutions that meet their specific needs.
  • Attend to customer requests, locate merchandise, resolve basic concerns, and escalate clinical questions to the appropriate pharmacy team member.
  • Assist with front-end merchandising: stock shelves, create displays, rotate inventory, and maintain a clean, organized sales floor.
  • Support special services such as curbside pickup and medication synchronization reminders.
  • Collaborate with the entire pharmacy team to maintain smooth workflow and a patient-first environment. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrate good mathematical and computer skills, able to learn and become proficient in the use of pharmacy operating systems.
  • Work closely with others. Contribute to creating and maintaining a positive work environment for all team members.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of federal and state laws related to pharmacy practice.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years’ experience as a customer service representative preferred.
