The Floating Staff Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for administering physical therapy treatment according to established professional standards. 

Essential Functions:

  1. Administer programs of physical therapy as outlined by the supervising physical therapist.
  2. Complete all patient related documentation by the end of each workday.
  3. Clean and organize work area, change and clean linens, and disinfect equipment after treatment.
  4. Maintain and upgrade professional skills according to company needs and professional requirements.
  5. Assist supportive personnel to achieve safe and accurate completion of delegated job tasks.
  6. Participate in clinical training and supervision of assigned students and interns.
  7. Clarify the patient’s next scheduled appointment time.
  8. Comply with all company policies and procedures as well as State and Federal professional regulations.
  9. Observe patients during treatment to compile and evaluate data on patients’ responses and progress and report to physical therapist.
  10. Instruct, motivate, safeguard and assist patients as they practice exercises or functional activities.
  11. Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the company. 

Requirements: 

  • An associates degree or certification from a physical therapy program.  
  • A current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
  • Duties require extensive standing and walking.
  • Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients.
