Cedars has been supporting adults with developmental disabilities for more than 100 years. As vital members of the Health Services team, each Specialist will display caring, professionalism, excellent communication skills and sensitivity as you work closely with other staff to support the health and medical needs of our clients. This work is fun, creative, fulfilling, and challenging! Each position is full-time (Monday - Friday) and the rate of pay is $27/hour. Bonus of up to $1,000 distributed over the course of the first year of employment.   As a Cedars Health Services Specialist you will: Maintain medical database and perform data entry. Email health and behavior notes to the appropriate staff on weekly basis. Prepare detailed files in advance of appointments. Schedule appointments as required. Transport residents to doctor and other healthcare appointments. Respond to drop-in health concerns, injuries, illnesses, and emergencies. Maintain cleanliness of the Health and Wellness offices and area. Administer medication. Triage phone calls concerning residents' medical concerns, and contact appropriate professionals. Communicate with pharmacies and medical offices to ensure medication accuracy and documentation. A strong desire to help others achieve their full potential. Medical background, skills and terminology is a plus. Proficient in the use of email and the ability to learn to use a database. Must communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal. A clean California driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving, and a willingness to drive a passenger van. The ability to pass a pre-hire screening including background check with the FBI and DOJ, and a pre-employment physical, including TB test. CPR and First Aid certifications (or the willingness to acquire both). An upbeat, positive attitude and good sense of humor are very helpful!
