Center for Community Resources is looking for a compassionate mental health professional to join our Huntingdon/Mifflin/Juniata team as a Crisis Intervention Specialist. Crisis intervention services include telephone and mobile assessments, emergency services coordination, crisis counseling, conflict resolution, and referrals to mental health and drug and alcohol resources.

The starting salary for this position is $21.54/hr. We also offer a higher salary based on experience. We are currently hiring for one full-time position. All full-time staff also rotate weekend and overnight shifts on call. There is an on-call rotation of at least one week a month. The on-call hourly rate is $23.00/hr. and there is an additional stipend of $300.00 per week when on-call. There is an office in Lewistown for staff to work out of. We are specifically looking for an individual located in Mifflin or Juniata Counties for this opening.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field. With major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, history, criminal justice, nursing, counseling, education, theology, political science or related field AND one year of experience in the mental health field required.
Associates degree in psychology/sociology or related field plus 2 years direct mental health experience.
Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, Act 33/34 and FBI clearances will be required. Individuals who have accessed human services are encouraged to apply. EOE/ADA

Must have a Bachelor’s degree with major course work in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Anthropology, Political Science, History, Criminal Justice, Theology, Nursing, Counseling, Education or a related field. (Degree/course work is Sociology, Social Work, Human Development and Psychology are strongly preferred) or
Be a registered nurse or
Have a High School diploma or equivalency AND 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Gerontology or other Social Science AND 2 years of experience in public or private human services with 1 year of mental health direct care experience
(Associates degree with minimum of 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology and Human Development is strongly preferred)
(2 years of direct mental health experience is strongly preferred)
Experience:
One year experience in Crisis Services or in the mental health field preferred with a bachelors degree. See experience requirements above for applicants without a bachelors degree.
Licenses, Certificates or Clearances:
Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances.
Valid Driver’s License.
Car Insurance Coverage Verification.
Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of de-escalation techniques, computer literate, knowledge of 302/201 process, and knowledge of PA resources.
