Job Description

 

                                                          JOB DESCRIPTION 

SUBJECT:                     HOST/CASHIER – DEN   

EFFECTIVE DATE:        04/01/2024

REPORTS TO:  Den Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1.  Greet and seat guests.
  2. Be friendly and courteous at all times.
  3. Must have full knowledge of taking to go and entering orders into the POS system properly.
  4. Must have experience in closing out checks and handling cash, credit card, coupon, discount vouchers and comp transactions properly.
  5. Must have full knowledge of all food and beverage offerings, prices, menu descriptions and daily specials.
  6. Complete all required side work.
  7. Follow all Treasure Bay departmental safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  8. Maintain appearance standards as outlined by Treasure Bay.
  9. Provide information and explain Players Club benefits and promotions as well as other Hotel amenities to guests.
  10. Maintain consistent attendance record.
  11. Set up server seating chart.
  12. Make sure menus, silverware, thermal paper, pens, note pads, toothpicks, mints, a sanitation bucket and towel are stocked at the host stand.
  13. All side work should be kept up with throughout your shift as well as at the conclusion of every shift. There should never be a mess for an oncoming shift and all items should be stocked.
  14. Perform other duties as required by management. 

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

High school graduate or GED equivalent.  Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary languages of the work location.  Knowledge of the sequence of service and buffet procedures, generally involving one year minimum, as a bus person.  Must be customer orientated. 

LICENSE / PERMIT REQUIREMENTS: n/a

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

Must be able to stand and be upwardly mobile for periods of up to four hours in length.   Must have good sense of balance, be able to bend and kneel and have the ability to lift bus pans and trays frequently weighing up to 25 pounds. The following activities are normally required to perform these functions:   stand,  walk,  bend,   reach,  read,  write,   eye to hand coordination,  depth perception, effective verbal communication,   strong math skills,  excellent organizational skills.
