Position Summary: 

The Intermodal Operations Specialist provides hands-on operational support to the Intermodal team by assisting with day-to-day carrier coordination, shipment tracking, and communication. This role offers exposure to intermodal logistics operations and supports service execution, issue resolution, and data accuracy while contributing to a fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on operational excellence and customer satisfaction. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Monitor, track, and trace shipments with carrier partners to proactively provide updates to internal stakeholders. 
• Identify, escalate, and help resolve service issues or risks of failure to appropriate internal contacts, such as Account Managers. 
• Spot price opportunities accurately with available capacity 
• Tender loads to appropriate carriers with correct information and confirm availability 
• Mitigate accessorial charges (e.g., detention, rail storage) for customers by leveraging ETG insights and proactive communication. 
• Ensure all required documentation, including PODs and supporting paperwork, is accurately saved in the TMS system. 
• Provide world-class customer service through professional phone and email communication with carriers and customers. 
• Support department goals and contribute to a positive, collaborative, and team-focused environment. 
• Perform other duties as assigned to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, Phone skills are a must 
• Highly detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timely follow-through. 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. 
• Comfortable working in a technology-driven setting, including TMS platforms and customer portals. 
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.). 
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support shared goals and continuous improvement 

Education/Experience:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Transportation, or a related field preferred 
• One year logistics, customer service and/or hospitality industry experience 
• Intermodal operations/customer service specific experience preferred but not required 
• Ability to communicate professionally via phone and email 
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Teams) 
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow processes, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
