Job Description

Pay Range: Targeted salary up to $18.00/hour, depending on experience.

Position Introduction:

Emergencies happen. When first responders are on the scene, it is because someone sent them there. They listened to the needs of the caller and were able to communicate these needs to a team so help could arrive. They may not but on the front lines, but their role changed lives. The OU Health Sciences City Campus Police department is looking for individuals to serve the university and its mission as Dispatchers. You will be the eyes and the ears for the police department as you assist with emergency calls, service requests, and monitoring security cameras and alarms.

What you will do:
Receive and prioritize simultaneous calls on multiple instruments and dispatches responses to calls for service and to alarms.
Control police radio frequencies, record and monitor all radio transmissions and incoming telephone calls and maintain required logs and records.
Determine whether an emergency is in the dispatch service area and provides accurate and clear directions to specific locations.
Relay records and information to officers in the field.
Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
