Job Description

The Mainland Kitchen + Bar at the Holiday Inn Manahawkin located at 151 Route 72 West in Manahawkin, New Jersey is currently looking for both full time, part time and seasonal to join our fast-paced hotel restaurant team. As the critical link between the kitchen and front-of-house staff, you will ensure every dish leaves the kitchen accurately prepared, beautifully presented, and delivered promptly to guests.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives under pressure, communicates clearly, and takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate food flow between kitchen and service staff during high-volume service

  • Ensure all dishes are prepared according to order specifications and presentation standards

  • Verify accuracy of tickets before food leaves the kitchen

  • Communicate clearly with chefs, cooks, servers, and management

  • Organize and prioritize orders to maintain timely service

  • Garnish and plate food when necessary, according to restaurant standards

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo line

  • Assist in resolving order discrepancies quickly and professionally

  • Monitor ticket times and help maintain consistent pacing during service

  • Support overall team efficiency and guest satisfaction


Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous restaurants experience preferred (expo, server, or line cook experience a plus)

  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and multitasking skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs

  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
