Your day to day as a Teacher Early Head Start EHS

As an Early Head Start Teacher 1, you will be immersed in a dynamic classroom setting, working with infants and toddlers alongside a collaborative team at one of our two centers in San Andreas. Your role will involve providing a comprehensive educational program for children aged 0 to 3 years, creating engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments that foster physical, social, emotional, and educational growth. With a commitment to implementing age-appropriate curriculum aligned with Head Start's standards, you will actively supervise and engage with the children, bringing energy and enthusiasm to every activity.

Flexibility is key as you partner with diverse staff, children, and families, all while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and Community Care Licensing requirements. To excel as an Early Head Start Teacher 1, a range of skills and qualifications are essential. Experience working with young children is a prerequisite, along with a Child Development Associate Teacher permit that must be obtained within six months of hire. Candidates should have completed 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units, including core courses, with at least 6 units focused on infant and toddler development.

A California Health and Safety Certificate is also necessary, along with certification in CPR and First Aid, which should be obtained within six months of employment. Furthermore, you must meet health screening requirements, providing proof of a current negative TB test and immunizations mandated by Community Care Licensing, including measles, pertussis/Dtap, and a current influenza shot. Lastly, a valid California Driver's License and proof of current automobile insurance coverage are required to ensure safe transportation as part of your responsibilities.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
