Position Summary

The Kualoa Grown Market Associate plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and engaging shopping experience for guests at the Kualoa Grown Farmers Market. This position is responsible for providing outstanding customer service, managing sales transactions, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and supporting vendors. The ideal candidate is passionate about local agriculture, enjoys working in a dynamic retail environment, and is committed to promoting the farm-to-table experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests in-person and over the phone, answering questions, offering product recommendations, and providing accurate information on product availability, inventory, and market offerings.
• Process sales transactions accurately, handling cash and credit card payments.
• Set up and break down market displays, ensuring a clean and organized space.
• Restock and maintain product displays, fridges, and freezers.
• Unpack deliveries, verify inventory, and label merchandise.
• Assist vendors with their product displays and supply needs.
• Monitor product quality, remove expired or damaged items, and participate in inventory counts.
• Support promotional activities, such as signage and in-store displays.
• Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and assist with other tasks as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
• Frequent walking, reaching, handling merchandise, and stocking shelves.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and rain.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of retail, farmers market, or customer service experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a farmers market, pop-up shop, or local food retail environment.
• Knowledge of local agriculture and farm-to-table practices.

Familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
