Job Description

Overview

The New Patient Coordinator performs various routine and complex clerical tasks and interacts with new patients, family members, visitors and clinic personnel in other departments to ensure positive internal and public relations.

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the completion of all incoming new patients as assigned
  • Locating an appointment in a timely manner depending on the situation.
  • Schedule new and return appointments according to scheduling parameters set for each provider.
  • Registers all patients accurately in the EMR system and mails (emails) new patient packets to all new patients.
  • Ensures the patients chart is up to date with patient demographics, medical records and verify insurance information prior to new patient scheduling.
  • Arranges transfer of medical records and immunization records when necessary.

Qualifications:

Equivalent to four years high school or GED, with particular emphasis during high school in office skills, shop skills, or others, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
