Responsibilities

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides clinical assessment, treatment, and diagnostic respiratory services for all neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients for whom care has been prescribed. Responsibilities include but are not limited to knowledge of pulmonary disease processes and the therapies associated with their treatments. Implementation of pharmacological therapy by established protocols, ventilator management, administration of all other related treatments and procedures provided by the respiratory care department according to departmental policies and procedures. Initiate and maintain all respiratory equipment, respond in a timely manner, make appropriate decisions in both clinical and professional situations and appropriately apply departmental and hospital guidelines, policies, and procedures.


Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Graduate of Respiratory Therapy from an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care
  • One year experience preferred, new graduates are acceptable
  • ICU & NICU experience preferred
  • CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Maryland Board of Physicians Respiratory Care License
  • BLS- Health Care Provider preferred, Certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care

Salary Information

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
