Job Description

Ohel seeks a compassionate and talented professional entitlements specialist to join our team to represent and support Individuals living with Developmental Disabilities and Individuals with Mental Illness. The right candidate will help clients secure and maintain benefits such as Social Security/SSI, SSD, Medicaid, and Food Stamps.  Duties include eligibility planning, applications, recertifications, advocacy, and working with government regulations. Applicant will liaison with managers across the agency to ensure positive outcomes.  The applicant must be well-organized, self-motivated, and able to follow through on multi-tasked responsibilities and general administrative requirements. Applicants will review the cost of care ledger regularly to ensure Ohel and individuals we serve are obtaining accurate income.  This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to details,  written, verbal, and interpersonal skills,  as well as computer skills (including Excel, MS Word, Outlook). Knowledge of New York and New Jersey benefits and entitlements requirements is preferred. Training will be provided. Position includes a competitive benefits package that includes a 403B retirement plan with employee contribution, sick and vacation paid time off (PTO) and health insurance. Free access to onsite gym included! Eligibility for all benefits is based on hours worked, employment classification, and fulfillment of applicable waiting periods and plan requirements. This full time position is located in Brooklyn.

 Salary: $50,000 -$60,000
