Job Description

The Platinum Hotel is looking for a full time Front Desk Agent. We’re the perfect team to join if you’re looking for a non-union, non-smoking & non-gaming work environment.  Located just 1 block off the strip, and 5 blocks from UNLV, you’re guaranteed an easy trip to work and free meals &  employee parking.

The Front Desk agent will be responsible for registration and checkout, phone operations, mail and message service all the while providing outstanding service to our guests along the way. Starting pay is $16.50/hr. Shift times vary between 6am - 10pm

What you will be doing:

  • Review arrivals noting special requests, blocking rooms as needed.
  • Check in and out hotel guests in a confident, professional and friendly manner.
  • Answer all phone calls promptly and knowledgeably, always ensuring complete and accurate information.
  • Complete all items on  checklist by end of shift.
  • Conduct pre-assignment of hotel rooms, which includes VIPS, repeat guests, all packages, and any special requests.
  • Follow established key control policy.
  • Ensure proper credit policies are followed.
  • Open, secure, and balance out daily shift bank, which involves counting and verifying cash, check, and credit card transactions occurring while on duty.
  • Monitor room availability throughout the day.
  • Research guest requests and create memorable amenities.

What we are looking for:

  •       High School or equivalent.
  •       Must be 21 years or older
  •       6+ months previous work experience in a guest service position are required and other customer service facing roles such as a receptionist, an administrative assistant, or medical receptionist are helpful but would preferably be from within the hospitality industry
  •       Able to work independently
  •       Has good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills. 
  •      Organization and time management skills. 
  •       Service oriented. 
  •       Good oral and written communication towards guests, supervisors, peers, and/or subordinates. 
  •       SMS, Opera or similar property management system experience a plus.
