Job Description
Barista
The Barista at The Manchester Hotel sits behind the Granddam Bar in the lobby of the hotel. They are often the first point of contact upon entering the property in the mornings. The Barista has an important role as they should be ambassadors for The Manchester and its brand. Guests will spend many of their mornings sitting at the bar, chatting with the Barista.
Responsibilities:
Promptly greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Ensure orders are taken accurately and completely.
Offer ideas and suggestions to guests when ordering.
Ensure the packaged products are stocked, maintain cleanliness of all food and beverage areas, assist in preparation of food orders.
Maintain positive guest, owner and associate relationships.
Respond courteously to guest inquiries and concerns to ensure guest satisfaction.
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments.
Perform other duties as needed.
Skills You’ll Need
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to read and comprehend routine instructions and correspondence.
Ability to solve problems with a minimum of supervision.
Ability to read, write and understand English.
Basic office skills helpful including basic mathematics and proper cash handling procedures.
Must maintain a professional appearance and a positive attitude towards all guests and staff.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be people oriented and able to work independently or with others as needed.
Computer literacy.
Ability to use basic cashier equipment.
Basic knowledge of inventory and rotation of food and beverage.
Flexible hours and weekends required Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Prolonged standing; able to stand during entire shift.
