Job Description

The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion MultiPurpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 Learns and applies the basics for CM requirements, such as: 

  • Planning and Management, Identification, Change Control, Status Accounting, and Verification & Audit. 
  • Performs basic tasks for Data Management (DM). 
  • Studies and shadows tasks associated with CM basics with close supervision 

 Performs fundamental tasks, with supervision, such as, but not limited to:

  • Reviewing and approving Item Masters and Requisitions using applicable application(s) 
  • Reviewing and approving Ground Maximo and Solumina Work Authorization Documents (WADs) 
  • Performing tasks associated with the Engineering Release process 
  • Performing tasks to maintain document control of contract documentation and data using a variety of media 
  • Begin assisting with tasks associated with the control of Government and Company records 
  • Demonstrates basic working knowledge in the Microsoft Suite 
  • Learns and applies the basic, fundamentals for COMET & NASA applications: PeopleSoft, CMST, Maximo, Solumina, KDDMS, RMA, MaxCMDS, TechDoc, SARS, and RTS 
  • Learn to sufficiently operate: Microfilm & Microfiche machines, Scanners, and Plotters Computer experience with Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Sharepoint, various Internet browsers, and Outlook email and calendar features.
  • Must be able to work off shifts and a reasonable amount of overtime with limited prior notification as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. 

Essential Functions 

All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards.

Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.
