The AI Data Science Intern within the Human Resources (HR) Artificial Intelligence (AI) Enablement & Strategy team will play a hands-on, learning-focused role supporting the development and deployment of AI-driven solutions across global HR functions. This internship is designed to provide exposure to agentic AI systems, data science workflows, and HR analytics, while contributing directly to experimentation and prototyping efforts. The intern will assist with translating HR data into actionable insights, support AI agent training and evaluation, and help operationalize new AI workflows and features.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in the design, testing, and supervised deployment of AI‑agent–driven solutions that support HR processes and enhance the employee experience within a technology‑driven Utilities & Energy organization.
Support data preparation, cleaning, and exploratory analysis of HR and workforce datasets, enabling customer‑centric and data‑informed decision making.
Contribute to the training, evaluation, and continuous improvement of AI agents, including data annotation and feedback cycles while demonstrating accountability for data quality and ethical use.
Participate in prototyping and experimentation with AI models, agentic workflows, and analytics features in an agile environment that values learning and innovation.
Collaborate with HR, IT, and analytics partners to create clear visualizations, dashboards, and insights for HR and business stakeholders.
Document approaches, learnings, challenges, and outcomes to promote transparency, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
Engage authentically in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and cross‑functional projects, contributing ideas and learning from diverse perspectives.
Required Skills & Experience
Education: Enrolled in a related degree program (i.e. Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics).
Intermediate skills in Python, R, or similar programming languages, with exposure to data analysis or data science workflows.
Basic understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, such as model training, evaluation, or automation.
Curiosity, adaptability, and a growth mindset, with interest in learning how AI is responsibly applied in business.
Professional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical partners.
Ability to learn and self-teach new and emerging technical concepts related to AI as the information and tools evolve rapidly.

Preferred Skills & Experience
Prior related work or project experience.
Exposure to HR analytics, people data, or HR technology platforms.
Experience creating data visualizations or dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Python visualization libraries.
Familiarity with agentic AI systems, automation, or experimentation frameworks.
Interest in how AI and analytics can support workforce efficiency, operational excellence, and employee experience.
Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional, enterprise technology environment.
