Job Description
This is a FULL-TIME on-site role in Jacksonville, FL.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team. The PMHNP will play a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and managing psychiatric disorders in patients struggling with mental health and substance use disorders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric care, a passion for helping individuals on their path to recovery, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
Diagnose and treat mental health disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, and other psychiatric conditions.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with therapists, counselors, and other medical professionals.
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications while monitoring efficacy and side effects.
Provide psychotherapy and psychoeducation to patients and their families.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and coordinate care.
Educate patients on medication adherence, mental health coping strategies, and lifestyle modifications.
Stay updated on best practices, emerging treatments, and changes in mental health care regulations.
Will be required to work some nights and weekends.
Qualifications:
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health (PMHNP).
Current state licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a PMHNP.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in psychiatric care preferred.
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills.
Experience with dual diagnosis treatment is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
