About the Opportunity: CNC Machinist- Level I

Location: Morton, IL, 2nd or 3rd shift train on 1st shift for 90 days

Responsibilities:

  • Performs set-ups and operates CNC machines and related equipment where programs, fixtures, and methods have been developed.
  • Makes all edits and adjustments as required to produce parts to work orders/blueprint specifications/sketches.
  • The ability to operate more than one machine in a cellular environment is required.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of feeds and speeds and a working knowledge of cutting tools and their application.
  • Inspects work for all dimensional features as required.
  • Produces quality and quantity of work in accordance with Company requirements.
  • Responsible for accurately completing paperwork relating to counts, scrap, time, etc according to Company policy.
  • Performs duties always exercising good machining practices.
  • Maintains area, equipment, and tooling in a neat, orderly condition including operator maintenance sheets. 
  • Maintains coolant tanks and fills as necessary. 
  • Assists new and less experienced operators as requested.
  • Observes all Company policies, rules, and regulations including good housekeeping, safety and security.

Required Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-2 years CNC machinist experience
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
  • Ability to understand and interpret blueprints and sketches.
  • Basic mechanical ability.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CNC machines and controls
  • Experience operating in a cellular manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience using precision measuring instruments
  • Exposure to aerospace or tight-tolerance manufacturing environments

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds. 
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
