Job Description

Grand Canyon University! One of Arizona’s leading institutions of higher learning. Located in the Valley of the Sun in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona. GCU is an institutionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University.

The Professional Practice Administrator supports colleges with Professional Practices Committee (PPC) dispositions and goals. Including behavior, communication, and actions displayed at their various site, clinicals, or practicums. Upholds the University Policy handbook and college-specific dispositional expectations.

Location: 3300 W Camelback Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85017

What you will do: 

  • Process and investigate dispositional concerns on behalf of the Professional Practices Committees, ensuring appropriate correspondence is sent to the student in relation to the University Policy Handbook and program-specific dispositional requirements.

  • Organize and facilitate the Professional Practice Committee hearings for each college and student due process procedures.

  • Maintain electronic student files with regard to Professional Practice incidents.

  • Communicate with students, faculty, and staff regarding the Professional Practice process and procedures.

  • Ensure protection of student records in accordance with FERPA.

  • Compile and analyze metrics to improve University policies and processes.

  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Gather and analyze information skillfully. Work well in a group problem-solving situation and use reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

  • Ensure all correspondence with accrediting bodies is documented and cataloged, assuring that the University remains in compliance with these bodies.

  • Perform additional duties as required.

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Must pass pre-employment background investigation.

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
