Job Description

Established in 1970, Boley Centers, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization serving individuals with mental disabilities, individuals and families who are homeless, Veterans and youth in Pinellas County.

Boley Centers, Inc. has an opening for an Adult Day Program Mental Health Group Leader who will be responsible for planning, leading, and evaluating group-based rehabilitative services designed to support individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders in developing skills necessary for independent living, recovery, and community integration. The Mental Health Group Leader promotes recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered care.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Facilitate psychosocial groups using trauma informed care principles, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral approaches, etc. Group topics may include life and social skills, symptom management, coping strategies, relapse prevention, vocational readiness, wellness, and recovery planning.
  • Create and implement group curricula aligned with treatment plans and program goals.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and therapeutic group environment.
  • Encourage participant engagement, peer support, and empowerment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, human services, or a related field, preferred. Education must be from an accredited school, college, or university.
  • CAP licensure preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness or co-occurring disorders.
  • Knowledge of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care.
  • Strong group facilitation and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse populations respectfully and effectively.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills required.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Florida driver's license, auto insurance and own transportation vehicle required.  
  • Must pass a Level 2 background check and drug screen.
