Job Description

Pegasus is looking for Shuttle Drivers to work in Anchorage, AK.  The Shuttle Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation of airline crew members between aircraft, airport facilities, and designated hotel locations. Operating 15-passenger company vans in a fast-paced airport environment, this role is critical to supporting airline operations and ensuring punctual crew movement. Drivers must follow airport security rules, company procedures, and provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate 15-passenger vans on scheduled or on-call routes between the airport, hotels, and other authorized locations.
  • Adjust pickup/drop-off timing in coordination with dispatch and flight schedule updates.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch via radio or phone regarding assignments and routing.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections before and after shifts; promptly report safety or mechanical issues.
  • Keep vehicles clean, fueled, and ready for service.
  • Load and unload luggage, including items up to 70 pounds.
  • Greet crew members professionally and assist with boarding as needed.
  • Record trip details such as passenger counts, mileage, and times, using company logs.
  • Follow airport driving rules, ramp access procedures, and internal safety policies.
  • Stay reachable during shifts to support dispatch coordination.
  • Communicate any delays, road conditions, or hazards to dispatch and other drivers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager or Dispatcher.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid Alaska state driver’s license; must meet insurability standards.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Able to obtain and maintain airport security clearance and ramp driving privileges.
  • Must pass a criminal background check, fingerprinting, and pre-employment drug screen as required for airport access.
  • Able to lift and carry items up to 70 pounds without assistance.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (rain, snow, wind, heat).
  • Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Willing and able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and irregular shifts.
  • Punctual, dependable, and able to work independently under pressure.
  • Basic proficiency in communication tools (radio, text/email, dispatch systems).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of recent driving experience in a shuttle, hospitality, or customer service environment.
  • Familiarity with airport layouts and local Anchorage roads is beneficial.
  • Experience driving in snow or icy conditions is a plus.
  • CDL Preferred

 Physical Requirements:

  • Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb in and out of vehicles throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift/move objects up to 50 lbs frequently and 70 lbs occasionally.
  • Visual and auditory ability required to safely operate a vehicle and communicate effectively.
  • Regular exposure to weather conditions including cold, heat, snow, and rain.

Work Conditions:

  • Non-exempt hourly position; eligible for overtime per company and federal guidelines.
  • Shift schedules vary and may include holidays, evenings, weekends, and split shifts.
  • Uniforms may be provided and must be worn while on duty.
  • Work is primarily conducted outdoors and around airport activity zones.
  • May be exposed to moderate to high noise levels (hearing protection available when needed).

Language and Math Skills:

  • Able to read and interpret flight schedules, safety protocols, and written instructions.
  • Able to complete trip reports and basic logs using whole numbers and time formats.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Apply sound judgment to resolve scheduling, routing, or service issues.
  • Adapt quickly to changing flight schedules, road conditions, or unexpected service needs.
