Job Description

Responsibilities: 

  • Measure finish requirements to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Watch operating equipment to detect malfunctions.
  • Operate polishing/buffing equipment.
  • Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements.
  • Review drawings or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.
  • Select production equipment according to product specifications.
  • Operate welding equipment.
  • Apply lubricants or coolants to coils as required.
  • Adjust equipment controls to regulate coolant flow.
  • Load coils onto production equipment.
  • Lift materials or workpieces using cranes or other lifting equipment.
  • Notify supervisor of equipment repair or maintenance needs.
  • Repair production equipment or tools.
  • Replace worn equipment components.
  • Maintain inventories of materials, equipment, or products.
  • Feed coils into or through equipment.
  • Train new operators as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
