POSITION: EARLY HEAD START  INFANT-TODDLER CHILDCARE TEACHER ASSOCIATE - FULL-TIME (ages Infant-Toddler up to 3)

LOCATION: Gerry Sweet Center, 351 NW 5th St, Miami FL, 33128

When: Daytime, Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week, schedule mostly from 8:30am to 5:30pm (with 1 hour lunch), totalling 8 hours per day, year round position

Rate of Pay: $16.89 per hour

***FCCPC Birth – Five certification, or CDA certification in Infant-Toddler, DCF Staff Verification Birth-Five required

Responsible for planning and implementing daily learning activities, nurturing the children and managing and maintaining the Early Head Start classroom and its equipment and supplies, establishes and maintains supportive relationships with infants, toddlers, and parents and implementing developmentally appropriate routines and curriculum for infants and toddlers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • Plan and implement individualized, developmentally appropriate, nurturing care for infants and toddlers in a center-based setting
  • Coordinate use of community resources to enrich the learning environment
  • Support program philosophy that parents are the primary educators and nurturers of their children
  • Enhance the relationship of parents and their children by encouraging parent participation
  • Oversee and assist with classroom cleanup and follow universal precautions daily
  • Assist children in transitioning beginning and end of each day and during field trips
  • Maintain program standards regarding confidentiality and professional boundaries

Requirements

FCCPC Birth – Five or CDA certification in Infant-Toddler required

DCF 45 hr. training certificates required; High School diploma or GED required, Red Cross First Aid & CPR certificate; certificate of good health and completed TB test required; minimum 1 year in childcare services; 15 hours in-service training annually thereafter; requires fingerprints, level 2 criminal background check, and drug test

Experience:

  • Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • CPR First Aid Certification (Preferred)
