Job Description

The Center for Human Development, (CHD) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse ( LPN) to join our team at our Crisis Stabilization Unit located in Chicopee,

Are you a nurse with a passion for providing exceptional care? CHD's Crisis Stabilization Unit is seeking a full time and part time shifts to support our outstanding team.  You'll be at the forefront of providing critical care to adults and teens during their most vulnerable moments, in a facility that offers crisis intervention, outpatient behavioral health, and brief stabilization services—all under one roof.

Essential duties for these roles may include:

  • Collaborating with nurses, physicians, advance practice nurses, psychologists, social workers, or other professionals
  • Collaborating with guardians, relatives, and significant others of people served when clinically indicated
  • Documenting assessments and treatments in the electronic health record
  • Monitoring vital signs
  • Assessment of signs of substance withdrawal and completion of standardized assessment tools such as the Clinical Opioid Withdrawal Scale (COWS, CIWA, CIWAb)
  • Fills physician orders
  • Administers medications
  • Engages in a medication reconciliation process
  • Coordinates medical care
  • Contributes to comprehensive assessments
  • Brief crisis counseling
  • Individualized crisis prevention planning
  • Providing psychoeducation
  • Assisting with discharge planning and care coordination.

Pay rates:

RN pay rate: $45.00/hr.

LPN pay rate: $36.50/hr. 

Schedules:

Days, evenings, and overnights available! Must be able to work every other weekend.
