Position: Medical Technician
Department: Medical Floor
Reports to: Retina Services Supervisor
FLSA: Non-Exempt

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist physicians with patients; work up patients to include intraocular pressures, history of present illness, medical histories, check vision and anterior chamber checks
Assist doctors with intraocular injections
Conducts fluorescein angiography and manages patient’s reactions
Clean and sterilize instruments
Maintains both sterile and clean techniques in the procedure rooms
Escorts patients to patient reception area; may be required to assist patients with walking, by pushing wheelchairs, lifting and transferring
Maintains proficiency in the scribe role
Other duties as assigned   Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Certification as a medical assistant is preferred
Experience as a medical assistant is preferred
Understanding of medical terminology
Demonstrates knowledge of proper, safe, efficient usage of office equipment, computers, and software; working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to work in a fast-paced medical facility while adhering to HIPAA compliance regulations Ability to occasionally travel to other ECOW locations   Work Conditions:
Eye Clinic of Wisconsin has six locations; while staff will be assigned to a “home” location, travel to satellites is a requirement of the position. Hours of work will be dependent on the needs of the Clinic. Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Occasional lifting (30 pounds), bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs is required.   Acknowledgement:
