Are you passionate about supporting families in their journey toward healing, growth, and reunification? AMHC is seeking a compassionate, dependable full-time Family Time Coach in Houlton to help strengthen parent-child relationships and create positive, lasting change for families navigating the child welfare system.

In this meaningful role, you'll coach and support parents during supervised visits, helping them build healthy connections and communication skills with their children—all while maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Facilitate structured family visits by coaching parents before, during, and after each session
     
  • Guide families through conflict resolution, communication, and parenting strategies
     
  • Support co-parenting dynamics and recognize each family’s unique culture and strengths
     
  • Help parents set goals and track progress toward reunification and family wellness
     
  • Collaborate with DHHS and other team members to ensure each child’s safety and needs are met
     
  • Provide transportation for children as needed for family visits
     
  • Document services accurately and promptly
     
  • Participate in family team meetings, training, and — when necessary — provide court testimony
     
  • Offer services in office, home, or community settings, including some evening/weekend hours

The agency has been a provider of behavioral health (BH) and related services to adults and children in rural Maine for nearly 60 years. Today the agency is the largest behavioral healthcare provider in the region with nearly 30 service locations across Aroostook, Washington and Hancock counties offering an array of mental health, substance use, crisis, sexual assault, prevention, and brain injury services (Aroostook).
