Job Description

Position Summary:
The primary function of this position is to operate mill equipment and manufacture high-quality feed efficiently, while proactively solving issues to prevent production downtime.

Operating Hours:
Monday – Friday: 7 AM to 4:00 PM, hours may vary depending on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Micro batch hand adds for mixer.
  • Restock and rotate warehouse with site products, ingredients, medications, and pellets.
  • Package & palletize 20-60 lb. bags of feed, and rotate old product.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, fix broken bags, and perform inventory control.
  • Receive and rotate incoming ingredients in the warehouse.
  • Pick or load outbound products for customers, other United facilities, and United delivery trucks.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Maintain quality wood pallets for shipping.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Typical Work Environment:
  • Work is primarily conducted in a feed mill/warehouse/outside environment with extremes in temperature and dust.

Minimum Qualifications:
Note: Candidates with diverse backgrounds, education, and experiences will be considered.
Education & Training:
  • H.S. diploma, GED, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Education, training, or experience necessary to manufacture, process, pack, or hold safe animal food appropriate to the individual’s duties.

Relevant Experience:
  • 0 – 2 years in a warehouse environment.
  • 0 – 2 years in feed production.

Technical Skills:
  • Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and a general understanding of manufacturing processes.

Non-Technical Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Record maintenance ability.



Licenses/Certifications:
  • Valid driver’s license preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to sit or stand for an 8-hour shift while performing repetitive motions.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach in all directions.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs as needed.
  • Hand-eye coordination for operating equipment.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.

Safety Requirements:
  • Strictly adhere to all company safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Use required PPE, including masks, gloves, breathing apparatus, and eye/ear protection, based on task needs.
  • Participate in safety training programs and drills to enhance workplace safety awareness.
Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately to the Feed Mill Manager.
