Job Description

Description

Medical Assistant (CMA or CMA-Eligible)

At Redwood Coast Medical Services (RCMS), we don’t just provide care—we show up for the communities that depend on us. Every day, our teams step into clinics, homes, and moments that matter, making sure no one is left without access to compassionate, high-quality care.

We’re looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team—someone who is ready to step into a hands-on, patient-facing role and be part of that mission.

We value experience, and candidates with prior Medical Assistant or clinical experience will stand out. That said, we’re open to the right person who is ready to learn quickly, stay organized, and show up consistently for patients and the team.
If you’re not yet a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you’ll be expected to obtain your certification within 12 months of hire—we’ll support you in getting there.

After training, you’ll be paired closely with a provider—building continuity with patients and becoming a key part of their care experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support patient care by rooming patients, taking vitals, and assisting providers
  • Work directly with your assigned provider to keep the day running smoothly
  • Help maintain efficient clinic flow while ensuring patients feel seen and supported
  • Serve as a consistent, calm presence for patients throughout their visit
  • Step in where needed—because that’s how care actually works

You’ll work closely with the Director of Clinical Operations, who leads the day-to-day flow of the clinic, while you support clinical operations and become a key resource to the team.

What We’re Looking For:

  • CMA certification or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Strong reliability and follow-through
  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving, team-oriented environment

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – required within 12 months of hire
  • EMS certification is a plus

Why RCMS:

  • Direct partnership with a provider and continuity with patients
  • Mission-driven work serving rural communities
  • Real, hands-on clinical experience
  • Support to grow within healthcare
  • A team that shows up—for patients and for each other
