Job Description

This is a full-time, benefited position. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no evenings or weekends required, although shift start times may vary depending on department needs.

Your job duties: 

  • Rooming patients
  • Checking vitals
  • Assisting with procedures
  • Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
  • Predominantly back-office responsibilities but is expected to help with front-office duties on an as-needed basis
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice
  • Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
  • Collecting patient data in person and by phone
  • Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
  • Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
  • Scheduling of appointments and procedures
  • Complete and accurate message taking
  • Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
  • Order and referral entry
  • Acquisition of pre-certifications
  • Setting up of cases in EPIC
  • Basic registration and updating of demographics


Requirements:

  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman

  • BLS required in clinical setting for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
     


Preferred Experience:

  • Patient-centered, team-oriented, collaborative, proactive individuals

  • One year of experience as a MA in an outpatient setting preferred

  • Experience working in a Family Practice environment, Internal Medicine or Geriatric Medicine
