Job Description

Cardinal Shehan School, located in Baltimore, Maryland, is seeking a qualified, full-time Primary School Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic school year The full-time Primary School teachers have the opportunity to become part of a dynamic school community and would be responsible for instruction in all core subjects in a self-contained classroom.  

Essential Functions

  • Create and implement lesson plans with clear objectives inline with the Archdiocesan Course of Study, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge, engage, and inspire students to think confidently and independently.
  • Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students.
  • Integrate the use of technology effectively into the curriculum.
  • Establish reasonable standards for student achievement.
  • Observe and assess student progress, record such progress, and share with parents as required by school policy.
  • Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Interact effectively and respond to all parent communications in a professional and timely manner.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, collaborative planning meetings, retreats, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration.

Position Qualifications

  • Degree in Education.
  • MSDE Certification or the ability to obtain certification in 1-2 years.
  • Experience in student teaching or classroom teaching at the elementary school level.
  • Familiarity with a variety of technology tool to enrich and differentiate instruction.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred.

Pay Range:  $45,000 - $50,000, Annualized
