Qualifications

You have previous clerical or secretarial experience, or have completed a unit coordinator course. You possess strong computer skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and a basic understanding of medical terminology. A High School Degree or equivalent is required for this role.

Job Description

Position Summary: Supports the provision of patient care through the coordination of unit clerical activities, intra and inter departmental communication, record keeping and order transcription.

Experience

Required: Previous experience as unit coordinator, completion of unit coordinator course or previous clerical/secretarial experience

Education

Required: High School Degree or equivalency ;

Preferred: Unit coordinator course and/or secretarial and computer training, Knowledge of Medical Terminology

License and Credentials  

Required: None

Preferred: Medical Terminology Certificate

Skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, organization and time management skills, computer skills, basic knowledge of medical terminology; ability to use standard office equipment including fax machine, multi-line phones, and copiers; ability to handle multiple tasks and to work independently

Populations Served

Infant (0-1); Toddler (1-3); Preschool (3-6); School Age (6-12); Adolescent (12-18); Adult: Early Adult (19-45); Middle Adult (46-59); Late Adult (60-79); Late, Late Adult (Over 80)

Hours: 80 hours per pay 

Work Schedule: 3 pm  - 11:30 pm Shift

The minimum starting rate for this position is $17.14
