Job Description

Hourly Pay Rate: $26.12

Shift:  Monday-Friday 8:30AM-4:00PM

The Employee Relations Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the area of Employee Relations including but not limited to employee conflict resolution procedures, unemployment claims management, administering Employee Relations processes, and compiling monthly reports for Director of Employee Relations. Responsible for providing administrative support to the Employee Relations and the Human Resource Department. Responsible for ensuring that all confidential and potentially sensitive information is processed, maintained and utilized according to procedures in a strict and confidential manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handles calls and responds to requests for information from staff, management and outside persons or agencies.
  • Scans secure documents.
  • Manages the Administrative Leave process.
  • Sends out employee leave and termination letters.
  • Coordinates special projects as determined by the Director of Employee Relations.
  • Assists with Management training.
  • Completes unemployment claims
  • Represents the agency in unemployment hearings.
  • Serves as a Peer Review facilitator.
  • Provides administrative support with the Employee Status Review process.
  • Facilitate HR investigations.
  • Oversees ADA process and management.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Responsible for handling inquiries when the Director of Employee Relations is not available.
  • Complies with all agency policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and one to two years of experience with employee relations and/or Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • HR Certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, and compliance requirements: NYS Labor Laws, ADA, FMLA, and HIPAA.
  • Driver’s License that meets agency policy.

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
