The Ink Technician is responsible for preparing and delivering accurately mixed inks that keep our flexographic presses running smoothly and producing high-quality packaging. This role is equal parts science and speed—balancing color accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork to support production every step of the way.

What You’ll Do

• Mix and formulate inks to exact specifications for wide-web flexographic presses
• Create new color formulations using efficient, repeatable processes
• Partner with Press Operators during setup to quickly match target colors and reduce downtime
• Troubleshoot and respond quickly to color issues during production
• Plan ahead using the production schedule to ensure inks are ready when needed
• Verify color accuracy using quality tools (including spectrophotometers)
• Maintain consistency across runs by managing ink inventory and minimizing adjustments
• Label, track, and process all inks moving to and from the pressroom
• Handle and dispose of ink-related waste in accordance with safety standards
• Perform routine equipment checks, housekeeping, and preventative maintenance
• Support and train team members on proper ink handling and safety procedures
• Assist with monthly ink inventory and recordkeeping
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and team success

• Maintain a strong safety mindset with a goal of zero incidents
• Follow GMP and food safety standards with no repeat violations
• Meet quality expectations within first 90 days and maintain consistency
• Prepare all required inks at least 24 hours ahead of scheduled production
• Minimize press downtime related to ink issues
• Follow attendance expectations as outlined in company policy
• Properly maintain equipment with zero damage

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Experience with ink mixing, color matching, or printing processes preferred
• Understanding of color theory (additive/subtractive color, color measurement) is a big plus
• Comfortable using tools, computers, and measurement equipment
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and adapt to changing priorities
• Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills
• Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to jump in where needed
