University Physicians' Association is looking for an Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) for a PRN and full-time role at Edmunds Gastroenterology.

Responsible for:

  • Care of Endoscopy patient pre-procedure, intra-procedure and post-procedure.
  • Clinical environment.
  • Equipment care.
  • Administration of intravenous sedatives and narcotics.
  • Properly maintaining Narcotic Log Record.
  • Properly maintaining Nursing Records.
  • Orientation and training of new clinical staff, as appropriate.
  • Maintaining an appropriate inventory of medical supplies.
  • Adhering to established procedures and routines.
  • Adhering to HIPAA rules.
  • Assisting Physician during procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by Administrative Director or Charge Nurse.

Requirements

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (“RN”) in the Tennessee or in a compact state
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification (To be obtained within six (6) months of hire)

Physical Requirements:

Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients and medical equipment and supplies. Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms. Must possess an intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch and finger dexterity. Must have the ability to concentrate. Must be able quickly respond to changes in patient and/ or Center conditions.
