Quality Inspector

Position Summary:

The Quality Inspector position will have communication with affected groups on internal and customer rejects and would be a team member of problem solving and continuous improvement projects. This position has basic inspection responsibilities, execute sorting/containment actions and oracle records processing 

Schedule:  Monday- Friday 6:00AM- 2:30PM

Position Responsibilities: 

  • In-process and end-of-line inspection in area(s) of assigned responsibility including one or many of paint/plating, machining, sheet metal, subassembly, electronics and shipping/receiving
  • Test and measure parts and assemblies per defined requirements using appropriate gaging and test fixtures
  • Reject NC parts to containment hold area
  • Provide communication related to quality concerns or issues to affected department lead
  • Pull and contain affected nonconforming parts from in process locations and stock; organize and conduct sorting
  • Process material transactionally in Oracle (release to stock/next op/reject/scrap/RTS etc.)
  • Support Continuous Improvement activities (Kaizen, Lean flow, VA/VE, 8D problem solving, etc.)
  • Stop production, provide communication, and initiate corrective action for any condition that would contribute to poor quality
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, relating to material flow, quality, test and inspection protocols, or other aspect of Leco production and quality practices that could improve cost, delivery or quality
  • Update and maintain records within the assigned area of the Inspection Department
  • Participate in structured problem-solving teams

Position Requirements:

  • PC: Basic Literacy      
  • MS Office Suite          

Post-Hire Training Requirements (To be completed within two years)

  • Print reading class (LMC) or equivalent 
  • Precision inspection class (LMC) or equivalent 
  • ESD Training
  • Solder Training
  • Basic Quality Skills
  • Handling of hazardous chemicals for testing.
  • ORACLE collection plan
