Griffin Memorial Hospital in Norman, Ok is currently hiring for Food Service staff. Below is a breakdown of the key responsibilities and expectations for this role:

Job Overview:

  • Primary Responsibilities:

    • Catering to regular, modified, and special dietary needs.

Job Type/Salary:

  • This is a full-time, shift position. Shifts are 8 hours in duration. Both Saturday's and Sunday's are REQUIRED for this position.
  • Pay :
    • Level I: $14.66/hourly
    • Level II: $15.63/hourly
  • Benefits Allowance, earn 15 days sick AND 15 days annual leave per year, up to 7% 401k match
  • Scheduled days: Varies - 8-hour shifts / 5 days a week (40-hour workweeks)
  • This position is non-exempt.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: 

Level I: No experience required.

Level II: one year of experience in a commercial or institutional food service or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of vocational or technical school training in food preparation for the required experience.

Special Requirements:

  • Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of lifting/carrying 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently and able to push and pull a maximum force of 50 pounds.
  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.

About us: Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH) is located in Norman, Oklahoma, and serves all 77 counties in Oklahoma as a Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) treatment center for adults. Griffin Memorial Hospital is a 120-bed acute psychiatric hospital serving persons aged18 and over with severe mental illness and provides in-patient hospital care for those in need of mental health & substance abuse services.

THIS AGENCY REQUIRES COVERAGE 24 HOURS, 7 DAYS PER WEEK. WORK HOURS AND LOCATION MAY VARY DEPENDING ON BUSINESS NECESSITY. EMPLOYEES MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK WEEKENDS AND OVERTIME.
