Job Description

   

1.    Education: Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program.  Certified or eligible by the National Board for Respiratory Care.  Licensed to practice Respiratory Care in the State of Arkansas.

2.    Training and Experience: Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, associates, patients, and visitors.

3.    Job Knowledge: Delivers appropriate care to patients from neonatal through geriatrics with regards to age specific considerations (see attached sheet).

4.    Safety Sensitive:   YES

DESCRIPTION:

A certified or certificate eligible technician who is responsible for respiratory care given in any area of the hospital including special care units.  May be assigned supervisory responsibilities when adequately prepared.  Must be willing to learn cardiovascular procedures as required.

Physical Effort: Maintains good physical well being.  Job responsibilities require a great deal of walking, bending, pushing heavy equipment, wheel chairs and lifting patients.

Mental Effort: Maintains good emotional well being.  Posses the ability to work under stress.
