AFO is looking for a General Clerk II (CIF) to work in Colorado Springs, CO.  General Clerk II (CIF)This position requires familiarity with the terminology of the office unit.  The General Clerk selects appropriate methods from a wide variety of procedures or makes simple adaptations and interpretations of a limited number of substantive guides and manuals.  The clerical steps often vary in type or sequence, depending on the task.  Recognized problems are referred to others.  To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!


Responsibilities

  • Performs customer support functions, those processes used to support the total requirement of customers to gain OCIE logistics support in both combat and peacetime situations. 
  • Safely operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts in compliance with safety regulations around the warehouse. Utilize banding and wrapping machines to properly secure equipment. 
  • Completes document to show location. Signs for items to show receipt, tallies shipments and completes documents after ensuring that supplies are shipped, properly marked, tagged and in labeled containers.
  • Issue OCIE equipment to in processing service members while ensuring accuracy by verifying the National Stock Number (NSN) and quantity of the item with the issue sheet.
  • Conducts inventory and restocking of issuing locations, putting pallets and boxes into proper locations. Receive, inspect, and inventory Organizational Clothing and Individual Equipment (OCIE) and other assigned materials to ensure serviceability and accountability.
  • Store, organize, and label equipment by National Stock Number (NSN) and designated storage locations to support efficient warehouse operations. Prepare equipment for issue, turn-in, shipment, or redistribution, including packaging, and palletizing items.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Material & Equipment Directly Used:

  • Material handling equipment, computer systems excel and Microsoft, office automation equipment and various forklift equipment. 

Working Environment/Physical Activities:

  • Work is generally conducted in a warehouse environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.
  • Work will require lifting up to 25 lbs.; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting.
  • Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices.
  • Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules.
  • Steel Toe Shoes or Boots are required. 

Freedom to Act:         

  • Reports to the Lead / Supervisor and functions somewhat independently under his/her direction.

Qualifications

  • Education:  Must have a minimum of a high school degree or equivalent of a GED
  •  Knowledge of automated data systems and automated data system input required.   
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in warehouse functions.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills. 
  • Must also possess a working knowledge of office tools/programs.
  • Certified on forklift strongly preferred; or we will train.
  • Must possess and continuously maintain a current State of Colorado Driver’s License prior to start date or obtain within 30 days after employment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. periodically.                                       

Security Clearance:

  • Must be US Citizen to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI) to obtain a CAC.
  • Must receive favorable background and drug testing results.
