The Summer Associate / Intern program offers an outstanding opportunity to gain hands-on experience with an innovative leader in the healthcare industry. The IT Summer Associate / Intern will support cross-functional technology initiatives across AMN Healthcare’s IT organization. This role provides hands-on exposure to enterprise technology projects, Agile delivery models, cloud-based tools, cybersecurity, and software development processes—building a strong technical foundation while working alongside experienced professionals in a healthcare environment.
The intern will support projects across several IT functions, including:
Information Security
Project Management Office (PMO)
Software Engineering
Cloud Operations
IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)
Product Development
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting cross-functional IT and technology initiatives
Participating in Agile ceremonies and project execution
Assisting with hands-on work across the software development lifecycle
Learning foundational system administration concepts
Supporting cybersecurity and engineering efforts
Collaborating with team members across multiple technology teams
Exposure to Agile project management and product development
Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity, SDLC, and system administration
Strengthened technical problem-solving skills
Professional development in communication, teamwork, and collaboration within an enterprise environment
Improved operational efficiency across IT functions
Support for stronger cybersecurity practices
Enhanced software engineering and project delivery processes
Meaningful project contributions and increased team capacity
Development of well-rounded early-career professionals who deliver measurable business value
High School Diploma or GED | Required
0–2 years of related experience
3.0 GPA
Currently enrolled in a technical education program, college, or university
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Preferred: Undergraduate juniors, seniors, or recent graduates
Preferred fields of study: Technology, IT, or related disciplines
Basic technical and IT knowledge
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn
Work is performed in an office/home office environment.
Team Members must have the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
