Job Description: Legal Extern at Westmoreland Mining LLC

Westmoreland Mining LLC is seeking a Legal Extern through the University of Denver Sturm School of Law's CORE ELMS program for the Fall 2024 Semester.  Candidates must be at least a 2L and registered in the program by the August 9 deadline. This externship offers educational credit for hours worked, with a minimum requirement of 20 hours per week, across at least two days per week, at our Lone Tree Offices (10375 Park Meadows Drive). The extern will be supervised by the Corporate Counsel for External Affairs and will engage in legal review, research, and drafting related to natural resources and environmental law in the mining industry. Tasks include contract review, litigation research and preparation, public policy, communications, and other matters within Westmoreland's legal department, particularly those involving External and Regulatory Affairs.
