POSITION SPECIFICS
Title: Radiological Technologist
FTE: 1.0 (40 hours/week)
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Holiday Rotation: N/A

POSITION SUMMARY
The Certified Radiologic Technologist performs radiology procedures at a technical level that does not require constant supervision but does require good judgment. Operates ionizing radiation equipment using ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed protocols related to radiology technology for the diagnosis of various diseases. Assumes responsibility for coordinating procedures, quality assurance and record keeping as related to departmental policy, radiation safety and attending to the patient's needs.
POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform duties in compliance with regulatory requirements, ie: HFAP, TJC, Wisconsin Administrative Codes, OSHA, CMS/Medicare, etc, as well as department-specific requirements. Receives, positions and attends to patients. Abstracts pertinent data from patient and/or patient record. Performs all diagnostic radiology procedures, properly sets technique and protocol to maximize exam quality. Understands the principles of radiation physics and maintains both patient and operator safety. Keeps equipment in working order; recognizes equipment malfunction and reports appropriate information to department director. Critiques films to ensure quality examination is submitted for interpretation. Sets up films to ensure timely interpretation of examination. Assists with file room duties. Maintain strict patient confidentiality. Completes post procedure requirements and enters necessary data in Hospital information system. Maintains required CEU's.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Required: Diploma from a two-year program in Science of Radiographic Technology from an accredited technical college or hospital-based program

Required: Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in Radiology (R).
