Summary   

The Bankcard Operations Assistant is responsible for providing sales support and pricing analysis to the Centers for existing and prospective merchants, opening and maintaining new accounts, identifying sales opportunities, and assisting management to ensure retention of existing relationships and growth of new relationships.                        

Essential Duties & Responsibilities  

  • Complies with and stays abreast of all policies and procedures, federal and state laws applicable to the job.
  • Opens new Merchant Bankcard Accounts and maintains existing accounts according to the established policies and procedures of the department.
  • Provides sales support and pricing analysis to the Centers for existing and prospective merchants.
  • Consults with existing and potential merchants to identify products that will meet their bankcard needs.
  • Ensures proper documentation requirements are met for accounts maintained by the department.
  • Assists with the management of the department sales and service efforts to ensure retention of existing relationships and growth of new relationships.
  • Telemarket existing and potential merchants for additional sales opportunities.
  • Pursues the appropriate follow-up for existing and potential relationships.
  • Demonstrates a thorough working knowledge of Bank's established policies and procedures.
  • Commitment to teamwork and a focus on delivering Extra Dimension Service Plus (EDS+).
  • Technical Support to Merchant Customers
  • Transaction Research and Analysis
  • Analysis of Exception Transactions, working with Customer and Bankcard Operations Manager to evaluate exposure to the bank
  • Provide, present and promote The Citizens Experience to all external and internal customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience                                                  

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills                                                  

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills                                            

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability                                               

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills                                                  

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent computer skills with a working knowledge of Word, Excel, Navigator and Access software.

Other Skills and Abilities                                              

Excellent verbal and written customer service skills.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

Current driver's license.

Other Qualifications                                           

Must be able to travel 10% of the time.
