Responsibilities include transcribing patient data into EHR, performing preliminary testing, scheduling, and maintaining the exam room. Previous optometry experience is preferred, and the ability to learn quickly and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment is essential.
Job Description
WHAT WE OFFER:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- During the exam, accurately enter information into EHR as dictated by the doctor.
- Assist optometrist and ophthalmologist with patient procedures.
- Escort the patient to Optical and introduce to the Optician, reiterating the doctor’s recommendations.
- Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.
- Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
- Provide a safe, clean, organized and inviting environment for both patients and staff.
- Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by leadership.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Previous experience in optometry is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT (per ADA guidelines):
- Physical Activity: Standing for sustained periods of time, Stooping, Grasping, Lifting, Talking, Hearing.
- Physical requirements: Light work. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs on a regular basis from floor to waist, 5 lbs from waist to shoulder, and 5 lbs from shoulder to overhead.
- The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
