Certified Athletic Trainer - Manning High School

McLeod Sports Medicine has an opening for a full-time Certified Athletic Trainer.  The Athletic Trainer is responsible for daily practice and game coverage including management of injuries, organization and administration, implementation of sport performance programming, and record keeping. Additionally, the Athletic Trainer will have the opportunity to provide outreach services to club, city recreation, or collegiate teams as well. 

The Athletic Trainer will be part of the sports medicine team following policies and procedures and working under the direction of our medical director.  McLeod Sports Medicine employs a team of 25 athletic trainers.  Athletic Trainer must be able to work in a team setting and work in a progressive atmosphere.

Department Description

McLeod Sports Medicine is housed in a two-year old 25,000 square foot outpatient rehabilitation facility.  Our orthopedic and sports therapy services are available for individuals with acute or chronic orthopedic and sports-related conditions.  

Manning High School is a 2A sized high school in SC with approximately 800 students.  Manning High School has 10 sports with 15 teams.  They will play in Region 8 along with Dillon, East Clarendon, Lake City, Marlboro County and Waccamaw high schools.  This position would work alongside one other athletic trainer from McLeod Sports Medicine at Manning High School.

Work Schedule: 80 Hours Bi-weekly. Full Time. This position will be assigned to Manning High School in Manning, SC.

Skills Required

  • Minimum of a B.S. or B.A. degree, with certification from the Board of Certification (BOC) for athletic trainers. 
  •  Must be eligible for licensure in the state of South Carolina. 
  • CPR and AED certification also required.
