Job Description
$15,000 Sign On Available
$7,500 Relocation Assistance
$7,500 Tuition Reimbursement every completed year for 7 successful years.
The Physical Therapist is responsible for planning and administering physical therapy treatment plans designed to alleviate pain, restore function, prevent disabilities, and promote overall fitness and health of patients.
1. Completes patient evaluations based on information obtained through history, observation, subjective and objective measurements. Develops plan of care most appropriate to the patient’s learning style and therapeutic needs, communicating goals with the patient and/or family members, considering psycho-social, cultural and spiritual needs of patients and/or families.
2. Provides therapeutic interventions for a wide variety of physical and/or functional limitations related to, but not limited to musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, and developmental impairments, documenting progress with measurable and functional goals.
3. Maintain patient records according to hospital policy, completing evaluations, re-evaluations, progress and treatment notes, charges, and discharge summaries within departmental time guidelines.
4. Assists in adjusting schedules to accommodate changes in caseload in the department. Supervises operation of specific treatment team. Meets with PTA on regular basis to discuss patient and set goals.
5. Contributes to the overall performance of the department through professional development strategies, including, but not limited to competency training, clinical instructor, in service coordination, serving as a mentor in area of clinical expertise, program leader, attendance of meetings, and performance improvement ideas.
6. Demonstrates continued professional growth through setting goals and participating in education offerings, independently achieve and maintain CEU’s for SC LLR.
7. Communicates with physicians, other medical personnel and members of the interdisciplinary medical team regarding treatment provided, patient’s progress or complications, recommendations, and clarification of orders.
8. Utilizes appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patients and staff. Ensures an orderly, clean and safe work area.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: 72 - 80 Hours Biweekly. Full Time. Monday - Friday. Flexible work schedule.
Education:
• Active South Carolina license in Physical Therapy
• Current Basic Life Support (CPR/AED) certification (American Heart Association)
