Location: Fort Myers

Job Summary:

The New Patient Coordinator / Scheduler is responsible for managing the onboarding process for new patients while ensuring efficient and accurate scheduling of appointments. This role serves as the first point of contact for prospective patients, providing exceptional customer service, coordinating care, and facilitating a smooth transition into the practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for all new patient inquiries via phone, email, and online platforms
  • Schedule initial consultations within provider’s availability and patient needs
  • Collect and verify patient demographics, insurance information, and medical history prior to appointments
  • Educate new patients on services, policies, and required documentation
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure appropriate appointment types and timing
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the scheduling system
  • Manage appointment confirmations, reminders, cancellations, and rescheduling
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
  • Assist with front desk duties as needed, including check-in/check-out processes
  • Address patient concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in healthcare scheduling, medical office administration, or customer service preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and scheduling software
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of insurance verification processes is a plus
