Qualifications

This role requires a Virginia licensure with a counseling endorsement, and an Elementary Education endorsement. Experience working with elementary-level students is preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills are essential for effectively collaborating with staff, parents, and students.

Job Description

Qualifications: 

  • Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
  • Counseling endorsement.
  • Elementary Education endorsement.
  • Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.

Experience:

  • Experience working with students on the elementary level.

Responsibilities:  

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with principal, staff and parents.
  • Ability and willingness to work as a team member with special education and general education staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to compromise.
  • Good initiative, flexibility, dependability and organizational skills.
  • Strong sense of professionalism.
  • Strong classroom management skills.

Salary: 

  • Salary will be based on the FY2026-27 salary schedule.
